Safer cycling with Cyclee

Cycling could well be the way of future urban transportation in many countries as our cities become increasingly hostile to the personal automobile. The trouble is that accident rates for cyclists are between 26 to 48 times higher for cyclists. Bike-car accidents usually turn out to be the motorist’s fault, so there is a need to make the cyclist more visible to the motorist.

Help could be at hand. A new device that projects signals on the cyclists’ backs might soon improve the relationship between road users of every sort. Conceived by Azerbaijani designer, Elnur Babayev, the Cyclee displays different illuminated signs conveying the rider’s action. The projected images can also be modified on mobile devices.
