The Striking Cats: Peugeot Quartz and Exalt Concepts

Automologist KEVIN places his stamp of approval on these new Peugeot concepts. Every year, manufacturers come up with an array of concepts, showing off their talent in terms of design and technology. It usually is done to give the public an indication of their new design language or, in some cases, the actual car itself.

UK Cities to introduce Toxin Tax. Could X-1R be of any help?

A decade after drivers in the UK were encouraged to drive diesel-burning cars, local and national governments are set to make an abrupt U-turn and introduce a Toxin Tax on any vehicle that is not Euro 4 compliant. Initially, motorists were encouraged to convert to diesel power due to concerns over carbon emissions. But the resulting particulate pollution has shot up, making some UK cities – London, in particular – amongst the worst in the world for air pollution at times.

Driver Banned from Own Garage after leaving Bad Review

This has got to be one of the more wacky bit of motoring news I have seen for a while. You can of course take the criticism on board and try to get a positive result for the customer…or you could remotely lock them out of their garage. This is what happened to a Mr R. Martin of Oklahoma, USA after he posted online his less than perfect experience with ‘Garadget’, which apparently is an app that allows you to remotely control your garage door.

The Eighties with the Sleek 6 Series

Sometime around the mid-eighties, being a teenager and riding in a 6 Series BMW was no less than an event for me every time. This was a logical evolution of the 7 Series luxury saloon of the same era. Today, the sleek looks and the rarity have made this icon rapidly become a sought-after classic.

China’s Tesla Alternatives that won’t cost you an arm or leg

China is currently the world capital for electric car manufacturing. Currently, there are more sold there than the rest of the world combined. The charge is mostly lead by locally designed and made vehicles sold mega cheap due to the massive government subsidies. The subsidies are said to be a part of Beijing’s policy to build a world-beating leadership in clean driving, but is also probably due to the fact that China imports most of its petrochemical products and is finding these hard to come by in global markets.
