We all know that traffic can be dreadful during the holidays, but thousands of people in China experienced what can only be described as CARPOCALYPSE last Tuesday, as they were heading home at the end of the National Day Golden Week – an annual seven-day holiday at the start of October. Motorists found themselves stuck on Tuesday in stagnant traffic on the G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expessway, which on normal days is already one of the country’s busiest thoroughfares. The culprit was a new checkpoint that forced the 50-lane traffic to merge into just 20, and the situation was exacerbated by foggy weather.

Toyota to increase prices in Malaysia

There has not been much good news for the Malaysian car sector of late, with sales of new cars – since the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) – having fallen and the industry now facing a slump in demand. Across the board since April, when the GST was introduced, there has been more than a 10% fall in sales with just a few brands in positive territory.

Kuala Lumpur to introduce Congestion Charge

There is bad news today if you are one of the many thousands of Malaysians that use a private car to get to work in the city of Kuala Lumpur. The City Authority (Dewan Bangsar Kuala Lumpur or DBKL) has announced that they are to introduce a congestion charge or road pricing come 2017, for all private vehicles entering the Central Business District.

The Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo gets power from a 872hp engine, which sends it through four in-wheel motors linked to a hydrogen fuel cell system. The futuristic supercar looks like the lovechild of a Le Mans car and an open-wheeler, with a hint of alien spaceship DNA.
