We’re already into the third race of this season’s F1, yet grumblings about the diminished engine noise has not ceased. Our writer and avid F1 follower, MAC, has an advice or two for the bellyachers.

The 65th Formula One World Championship season is just underway and already the change in the format from the wonderfully noisy old 2.4-litre V8 used between 2006 and 2013 to the new 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 that incorporates a kinetic energy recovery system has caused some drivers to despair and an almost deafening volume of whinging from the engines detractors.

Back-Up Cameras To Be Mandatory

In the good old US of A, the National Highways and Transportation Safety Agency (NHTSA) has announced that as of 1 May 2018, all new vehicles under 10 000 pounds (or cars, to me and you) will have to be fitted with a Back-Up camera (aka Reversing Camera, to those of us that speak English).
