Many car manufacturers today use Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) in mainstream cars. It started with the Audi TT, Volkswagen Golf MK4 R and Bugatti Veyron back in the early 2000s. Since then, the PowerShift, EDC, DSG, PDK, M-DCT and TCT are some of the DCT’s introduced to the market. Even award winners 2014 Supercar of the Year, Lamborghini Huracan, and 2016 Ferrari 488GTB use a 7-speed dual clutch.

A decade after drivers in the UK were encouraged to drive diesel-burning cars, local and national governments are set to make an abrupt U-turn and introduce a Toxin Tax on any vehicle that is not Euro 4 compliant. Initially, motorists were encouraged to convert to diesel power due to concerns over carbon emissions. But the resulting particulate pollution has shot up, making some UK cities – London, in particular – amongst the worst in the world for air pollution at times.
This has got to be one of the more wacky bit of motoring news I have seen for a while.
