Paraglider + Volvo = EXCITEMENT

Volvo is not a brand that you would automatically associate with excitement, but over the years it has come up with a few really good adverts to demonstrate its products. Volvo has now come up with a neat way to demonstrate the smoothness of its new dual-clutch technology and what this can offer to the world of heavy vehicles.

Chinese Drivers Fight Back

Drivers in China are fed up with being dazzled by the high beam headlights of drivers following them, and are turning to scary ghost decals to shock the offenders into dipping their headlights.

Traffic police in the Eastern province of Jinan, Shandong, have begun noticing that some cars have the pictures of traditional styled gwei, pale-skinned long-haired women favoured by modern Chinese horror movies, adorning the rear window of cars.

Where do you think the World’s Largest Car Restorer is?

When you think of restoring classic cars, you might probably picture some ramshackle garage in the midlands of England, or the heartlands of the USA, maybe even in rural Australia. But the largest restorer of classic cars that employs more than 200 skilled craftsmen in vast hanger-like halls, with classic Jaguars and Rolls-Royces and Mercedes cluttering up the place, is not in any of those places. Little Known Facts from the History of Automobiles

Automobiles have been around since 1769 when the first steam-engine-powered automobiles were produced. Many more automotive inventions follow, like in 1807, when Francois Isaac de Rivaz designed the first car that was powered by an internal combustion engine that ran on gas, a mixture hydrogen and oxygen. More than 80 years later, German inventor, Karl Benz created the Benz Patent Motorwagen that featured wire wheels with a four-stroke engine, fitted between the rear wheels; it was the first automobile that generated its own power, hence Karl’s title as the inventor of modern automobiles.

Proton Iriz’s get Tats

Proton introduced the first of its Design Series, the Limited Edition Iriz, at the Malaysia Autoshow 2016, which is taking place from 10 to 13 November. Basically, the Limited Editions are the existing 1.3 Standard CVT and 1.3 Executive CVT variants, embellished with two types of decals, which Proton describes, without aggrandizement, as Honeycomb and The Stripe (on the Proton website, they are described as Geo Rhythm and Urban Stripe…we much prefer the straightforward descriptors used in the press release).
