In the global race to electrify all cars, some of our beloved ICE-powered vehicles are taking their final bow while still at the height of their popularity, and that includes the Rolls-Royce Wraith and Dawn. Rolls-Royce has officially confirmed that the order books for these two models are closed worldwide with the last one rolling off the Goodwood production line in 2023.

The Wraith coupe made its debut in 2013 and the Dawn convertible just two years later. Customers were more likely to fork over more money to customise these models because, unlike other Rolls-Royces, which one would buy to be chauffeured around in, owners usually drove these cars themselves.
These two models were based on the BMW architecture created for the 2008 7 Series, which the still-in-the-market Ghost uses. They both have a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 mill under the hood.
So, what can you buy instead from the Rolls-Royce shelf? Well, after some discussion on whether they would create electric versions of the Wraith and Dawn, the decision-makers over at King’s Place decided to focus on their first fully electric Spectre. The company was quick to say that the Spectre is not a replacement for either of the outgoing models, though, but wanted it to have “an identity all of its own”.

Rolls-Royce plans to fully transition to an electric-only car manufacturer by 2030.
