OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia launches OMODA JAECOO Technical Skills Competition 2026
Omoda & Jaecoo Malaysia has just launched its 2026 competition with participants coming from all across the nation. With the theme ““Sharpening Skills, Shaping Futures,” it is Designed to enhance diagnostic accuracy, repair quality and technical safety standards, ensuring owners receive reliable, high-quality maintenance throughout their vehicle ownership journey.
The event was held at Omoda | Jaecoo Johor, Kulai Supernova Sdn Bhd. Participants in the 2026 competition underwent a rigorous two-tier assessment curriculum:
- Theoretical Knowledge: Deep-dive evaluations covering electrical schematics, electronic control unit (ECU) communication protocols, powertrain logic, and systematic diagnostic workflows.
- Hands-On Practical Diagnostics: Timed, real-world troubleshooting scenarios where technicians must isolate electrical faults, calibrate camera and sensor suites, perform precise mechanical repairs, and adhere strictly to factory safety guidelines.
Of the 210 technicians who participated, 30 advanced to the semi-finals and 10 advanced to the finals. The champion was Wong Sau Seng from Gagner Auto Sdn Bhd (Plentong). Muhammad Mukhriz Bin Abd Rahim from Taycn Kredit Sdn Bhd got the second spot, while Mohamad Kharmafitri Bin Mohd Said from AJ Premium Motor Sdn Bhd achieved third place.
The winner of the Omoda | Jaecoo Technical Skills Competition 2026 will also represent Malaysia at the World Skills Competition in China this November, providing a valuable opportunity to showcase the expertise of the country’s automotive technical professionals on the international stage.
As automotive technology continues to advance rapidly, Omoda Jaecoo said the competition provides technicians with an opportunity to enhance their diagnostic and repair capabilities while upholding high standards of safety and service quality.
