The Hyundai Veloster didn’t gain much traction in our neck of the woods after its official debut in early 2012 and neither did the Gamma 1.6-litre MPI… until the turbocharged 1.6-litre GDI made its appearance in Malaysia recently.

Carsifu tested the Veloster Turbo, which is positioned just under the top-of-the-line Veloster Turbo Sport, sans the sporty decals, the orange “Turbo” side trim on the front seats and with almost RM4,000 slashed off the pricetag. Their verdict – the Veloster’s unique design makes it distinct from any other models out there and the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine outpowers any of its counterparts available.
