Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has just launched a limited edition version—1000 units to be exact—of the Triton Phantom Plus. Going for the price of RM139,700 on-the-road excluding insurance in Peninsular Malaysia, this variant is placed between the Athlete and AT Premium variant, and is only available in Jet Black Mica.
Prices in states like Sabah and Sarawak are at RM141,700 and RM141,750 respectively, whereas in duty-free zones such as Langkawi and Labuan, it goes for RM131,902 and RM134,353. It comes with a five-year and 200,000-km warranty.
The Phantom Plus gets decorative roof with LED lighting, front- and rear-bumper garnish with red accent, tailgate assist, side door moulding, sporty ‘PHANTOM PLUS’ body decals, ‘PHANTOM’ tailgate moulding with rear spoiler, rugged wheel arch with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels and Yokohama Geolander all-terrain tyres, and sports bar with matte finishing.

Inside the cabin, you get sporty leatherette seats, 9-inch touchscreen audio display with Apple Carplay and Android Ready, digital video recorder and red accent carpet mat. Safety-wise, it is equipped with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distibution (EBD), brake assist (BA), active stability control (ASC), traction control (TC), rest reminder, hill start assist (HSA) and trailer stability assist (TSA).
The Phantom Plus has a 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine that produces 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. There is an Easy Select 4WD mode for off-road function and hill descent control.
